During my workout routine at a gym, I was instructed by my trainer to take a balanced intake of protein, casein, whey powder that is beneficial for me with my workout sessions to build muscles appropriately. Initially I was apprehensive about their effects on my body, but with time I realized that they were more towards the advantageous side for me.

Basically, whey protein is used to prepare nutritious shakes and it is marketed in various flavors. I was informed that it starts acting by digesting instantly without accumulating in stomach, and was soaked by arteries and carried directly to the muscles. Hence they supply protein to the cells they require to refurbish the muscles after rigorous workout and supplements growth and vigor.

The major difference that lies between the whey and casein is the time taken by the stomach to digest each. Whey is recommended usually for generating rapid protein metabolism, i.e. muscle growth. It is soaked instantly into the arteries and generates rapid and fascinating results. By my personal experience I recommend it to be vital.

Casein by my experience has slower action properties. It acts like the usual post-workout supplement as it cannot supply the food to muscles quickly as whey can. Hence, casein`s result on me wasn’t as effective as whey. Often casein is recommended to be an ingredient in a whey powder, but it is’t a good way as they oppose each other`s action, but when used individually have been quite beneficial.

Casein was introduced to me as night time protein, because it takes at the maximum 7 hours to completely digest, which is quite slower than whey, hence it ideal to employ over-night. We the humans require sleep to regain our body from the usual stress like rigorous workout routines. Usually the muscles refurbish and re-grow when we are asleep. Hence, I took casein before sleeping by my instructor`s advise, which supplied my body with continuous, steady release of protein that was used by my body over-night. It provided me the same essentials and benefits that whey protein did, which allowed my muscles to be replenished and strengthened at the beginning of the day and prepared me for my daily fitness regime.

By employing casein in addition to whey protein, my weight reduction and muscular built was more drastic and effective, and I was able to achieve my aspired physique in a shorter time with negligible side-effects.
